Based in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, this Irish folk band was formed in 2002 by Seán Óg Graham (b. Portglenone, County Antrim, Northern Ireland; accordion/guitar), Damian McKee (b. Dunloy, County Antrim, Northern Ireland; accordion), Eamon Murray (b. Randalstown, County Antrim, Northern Ireland; bodhrán), and Liam Bradley (b. Tobermore, County Derry, Northern Ireland; piano). Taking their name from the Irish word for "lively", the quartet boasted several years experience on the folk dance scene. Their 2004 debut, A Lovely Madness, was an exhilarating collection that featured exciting reworkings of traditional Irish folk songs alongside original compositions, with occasional excursions into jazz and R&B. Classically trained violinist and vocalist Niamh Dunne (b. County Limerick, Eire) joined the all-male quartet the following year, and her warm vocals helped add a new dimension to the band's sound on the 2007 follow-up, Mischief.
