Emman LeGrand

Born and raised in Kinshasa, DR Congo (Zaire), EMMAN LEGRAND lived in Belgium before coming to the United States.
In many ways, EMMAN LEGRAND is a prototype World Beat artist, an heir to a varied culture background and wide ranging musical
experience in Africa, Europe, and the United States. He freely combines various musical influences in his music, making him one of the most revolutionary musicians to come out the Ndombolo music scene.

EMMAN LEGRAND is intimately involved with the songwriting, arranging, and producing on his recordings. This is in market contrast to the situation of many male vocalists in Africa who are often expected to follow the dictates of an outside producer. As a result, EMMAN LEGRAND is beginning a new revolution as a leading light of Congolese music. As a promoter, EMMAN LEGRAND contributs to the awareness of the sweet sound of African music in promoting various African music artists in Texas area. Starting from the late PePe Kalle, Soukous Stars band, Awilo Longomba, Koffi Olomide, Grace Decca, Douleur, Diblo Dibala, Kanda Bongo Man, Dany Engobo and the Coeur Brise Girls… 2008 projects included, JB Mpiana & Wenge BCBG, Awilo, Emman's performance at the Houston International Festival... 2009 In the studio finishing up Emman's long waiting second CD release Almost ready, stay put.
