The 2008 Houston International Festival honoring the theme "Out of Africa" will conclude with an historic pan-African finale bringing together musicians from East Africa and West Africa, as well as Africans in the Americas. Taj Mahal, the World Stage headliner and his band will host the jam, which will also feature musicians from the National Dance Theater of Ethiopia, Habib Koite's Bamada (from Mali), the Garifuna Collective (from Belize) and Menwar (from Mauritius). These musicians have never played together before, and may never play together again, and we don't know what will happen. But you better not miss it.
