DJs LATIN TRON AND COLECTIVO MACHIN
Latintron is a party concept in Houston, TX, the brainchild of Dj Shilbalam and Deja Zu, who have traveled together and partied in different crowds and vibes. They have learned a lot from their travels to clubs around the United States and have gathered many ideas, concepts and a wide variety of sounds and beats Deja Zu and Dj Shilbalam are committed to present you the old music to go out and find the latest tracks and to check the "used" bins to find hidden jewels. Songs that you grew up with and danced to when you went to Quinceaneras, Bodas, Bautizos, songs that Raul Velasco would be proud to present. Good music doesn't grow old!
Dj Shilbalam was born in Tampico, Tamps. Mexico and has been living in Houston, TX for the past 15 years. He is one of 3 resident DJs at Azteca's, where he plays mostly Latin-Alternative rock and electronica every other Saturday night. "I try to stay away from mainstream radio hits, so I rather play music from new bands, b-sides or little-known songs from established bands" he says. He hosts Latintron every second Friday of the month and Le Sweet Adition which is held once a month. He is also a co-founder and marketing manager of ROCKenHouston, a promoting company that tries to give a chance to Latin-alternative bands and singers from the Houston area.
Deja Zu was born and raised in San Luis Potosi, S.L.P. Mexico and has been living in Houston Texas for the past seven years. She's one of the resident djs at Azteca's where she plays, rock, alternative, indie, electro punk, house, pop, etc. Saturday nights. She started djing at a bar Latin MAchin ran a little over a year ago. "I play a little bit of everything, I like to play hits, local bands and every now and then new awesome tracks in different languages besides English and Spanish that won't never be played on the radio, how sad!" she said. She is one of the Dj hostess at Latintron which happens every second Friday of the month. She's also in charge of the Public/Artist Relations at www.rockvivo.com and one of the organizers for this site. Rockvivo is a venue between the artist and promoter which together work all over United States and Mexico with more than 10 years in the field.
