With influences of traditional Tex-Mex Conjunto, Norteño, Cumbia, Cajun, Blues, and Soul the band is a salsa picante dipped with English and Spanish lyrics. Boundaries are non-existent for the band who are always trying to find the next party whether it be in a club, galas, bars or the back yard of your 85 year old abuelito hechando un grito!!!!!!
Founded by Roberto Rodriguez, Pistoleros de Texas was the product of experimentation that is the heart and soul of the group. Following accordionists such as Flaco Jimenez and Steve Jordan with their wide range of accordion playing, Roberto Rodriguez is also looking for new limits which seem to be endless on the “squeezebox”. Accompanied by a Banjo instead of the traditional Bajo Sexto is another form of experimentation to fuse Mexican, Cajun, and Bluegrass sounds together.
