Lourdes Jimenez

This Puerto Rican jewel is a natural singer who has been performing since the age of 5.  Her sultry voice moves audiences with its emotion, power, and range.  She is a diverse performer, singing a wide range of Latin sounds such as salsa, merengue, ballenato, guajira, boleros, pop and ballads.

Her performances include background vocals for Angela Carrasco and Celia Cruz in New York City, the Café teatro venue in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and a special contract with the Corrado Quintet at the Monte Carlo Sporting Club in Monaco. She has also been the opening act for Celia Cruz and Tito Puente, Willie Colón and Sonora Ponceña in Denver, Colorado. Here in Houston she has performed at the Sounds and Dances of Puerto Rico Festival at the Miller Outdoor Theater and recently with her band Monte Adentro at the Isla Coquí Puertorican Restaurant among others.

Lourdes has a CD recording available to audiences entitled “Mi Razón de Ser”, and will be performing some of the songs at the 2010 Houston International Festival.  The melody in her accent is her grandest wealth; and the strength printed in her songs allows us to value this great Puerto Rican singer.
